Feeling the same way!!

Hello Ladies,
So many of you have been kind enough to reply to my first thread and believe me, it has not gone unnoticed. I wish I could figure out how to use this sight and message you back, but as my surgery date is tomorrow, 3-12-2002, I am a basket case.

I have so much to do tonight it isn't funny. I have to wash last minute clothes and change the sheets on the bed, pack up my son to go to Mamaws, pack. I can't even think of what to pack. Then yesterday, I went for a facial and a pedicure, nice relaxing afternoon right? WRONG! I had mask on my face and was "forgotten" in the room. The facialist decided to wax my eyebrows for me. Nice so I thoght, now I don't have any! then I had a pedicure and she cut me. I hope this is not an omen. I had a good cry but my nerves are shot.

So, so, sorry to ramble, glad ya'll are here.

We're all in this together!

I'm feeling your panic, pain and pathos, dear sis! My surgery date is the day after yours. I had a similar scheduling snafu (alliteration must be the order of the day, huh?) and was a little miffed. You sound like a planner, like me. I have everything planned. I have even planned to be calm this week while my 11 year old (who lives with my ex) is here for spring break, but to have my nervous breakdown on Sunday after he leaves but before my pre-op visit! Ha! I'm trying to get a lot done, but mostly it is to keep me occupied so I won't think too much. I have looked around at my house and I know that it will be a total wreck in one week with DH and teenage boys in command. That's why I have scheduled someone to clean my house AFTER my recovery. You are not alone, dear sis. Whenever I pray for myself and my own family, I also pray for those on this site who are going through this, too. I hope it helps you to know this. I am trying to incorporate some suggestions made to me by other hystersisters and think positively about what is coming. I see myself going to my surgery (bravely, I might add...I have a flair for the dramatic!). I see my doctor being guided by the King in his work. I see myself enduring pain and managing my recovery by being calm and asking for what I need. This is the hardest part: I see myself laying on my butt, sleeping, lazing and slacking for days on end, while my family learns new living skills--how's that for a positive spin? Then the last vision I have is of a vibrant, healthy woman living happily with her new body. I like thinking of it as a new improved body free of what I call "deproductive" organs. If this is too merry sunshine, I am sorry, but this kind of thinking empowers me and helps me to face what is ahead. I hope it will you, too, and that you will feel support coming through the computer from all your sisses out here in cyberland!

Our planets are aligned!

I started laughing when I read your note. I'm new to the site but have been up since 3am because of awful cramps and I'm also scheduled for surgergy on the 19th. I keep chanting to myself, "well at least this should be the last time I have to deal with this!)
I hope you get your date cleared at the hospital. I agree that it seems that anything getting in the way of my plans sends me right through the roof.
At least your husband is out shopping with you! Although I know my DH will be very helpful and attentive after the surgery (he's the Mr. Mom so he'll be home to take care of me which is great) right now you'd think that I was going to have an ingrown nail removed! He's shown almost no interest in the procedure, process, even why I've made the decision to have the FAH! It's driving me nuts! Oh well...I have a great network of friends, so I just need to focus on the positive. Hang in there!
