I just have to say
I would have to wait a week at most for the Ambien because that is the way the military pharmacy does it. Because it would be a new med for me, the doc would have to submit paperwork for it, which would need to be approved by the inpatient pharmacy folks at the hospital. Sometimes, this only takes a couple days, sometimes a week
That is horrible! What if it was a new medication for you or whoever (is it the same for meds for children?) that can't WAIT a week? Tough luck? so uncool. Sorry about that.

It's only on certain meds that this procedure needs to be followed. And I am not sure what category that is. Now, of course I could get the doc to write the script on paper, and I could take it to a civilian pharmacy and pay for it, but even then sometimes there are problems with the pharmacy filling the script. I know it sounds nuts, and sometimes it is. Just something you get use to.. a way of life.. when in or married to the armed forces.
