Hi Ladies,

I just saw this report. It's very limited, in my opinion, because it doesn't say HOW MUCH (milligrams) are in the "lotion".

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...ogen_1&cid=594

It called *Estrasorb* ........

Personally, I think I'll just stick with my Compounding Pharmacist and creams, thank you very much...

Read it, if you want to... and judge for yourself.

That is very good to hear....If the drug companies are catching up with the compounding pharmacies it will just add to our choices for those who can't get to a compounding pharmacy. It would be interesting to see the particulars.

  Quote:
The study, which enrolled 200 women who were naturally or surgically menopausal, consisted of a three-week screening period, a one-week placebo period, and a 12-week treatment period. A 3-gram dose (approximately 1/2 teaspoon) of Estrasorb with 7.5 mg estradiol (100 patients) or placebo emulsion (100 patients) was applied daily to each thigh and calf. Hot flash data was collected and recorded in a patient diary.
Am I reading this right? Is that 7.5mg of estradiol per dose

Hmmmmmmm,

Also, a 3 gram dose is more like 1 tsp. or a little more...NOT one half teaspoon!

I think gram is a weight measurement so perhaps it is a very dense cream....I am not a mathemetician here but what I found odd was the dose 7.5mg of estradiol sounds a bit high don't ya think?

Hi NonoLoLola (do I have that right?), I wanted to thank you for responding to my post a couple of weeks ago. You suggested switching to the Vivelle Dot and increasing the mg. So, I did. I do like it although I find I need to change it more often than it says.

Becky, sounds to me like the cream at 7.5 mg. is really high since most of us don't use more than 1 mg. But, you never know...

Side effects of Estrasorb were similar to placebo and consistent with estrogens as a class, with the most common being endometrial disorder, breast pain, vaginal hemorrhage and infection, the Columbia, Maryland-based company said
Can anyone say estrogen dominance here On 7.5mg its not a wonder they had these symptoms and NO hotfllashes. I wonder if it would be possible to have a hot flash on that much estrogen.
