Abdominal Support Binder vs Perfect Pocket Abdominal Binder vs PostOp panty

I see three different and very interesting products in the store here.

1) Abdominal Support Binder
2) Perfect Pocket Abdominal Binder (to hold hot & cold packs)
3) Post Op Panty with silicone scar panel

Is it necessary to have all 3 of these for a TAH, open surgery with vertical incision? Would having all 3 be redundant? Would one be better than another?

Thanks for your input!

I don't think you need all three. I never had an abdominal binder, and never felt I needed one. Some women swear by them. It is really a personal choice. Pick one (or none) that will work best for you.

Re: Abdominal Support Binder vs Perfect Pocket Abdominal Binder vs PostOp panty

I had horizontal TAH with LSO. I used my binder from the hospital once for the ride home. Loved that! But I never used it again. I wear the panties I had before surgery, sometimes I just toss a non-stick gauze pad over my incision if I feel rubbing from undies or pants. Sometimes no panty at all, lol! I too thought about buying the extras, maybe get them in case, but be able to return them if not needed. Just a suggestion.

Re: Abdominal Support Binder vs Perfect Pocket Abdominal Binder vs PostOp panty

I love my hospital binder!!! I am almost two weeks out and still wear it. Now that a lot of swelling has gone down, I have to wear a tank top under it but I feel like it gives so much support when moving around. Without it on, it hurts me to sit up.
