Doctor's office made me cry...

My dr told me the same thing when I went for preop. The major difference was that it was 2 days before the surgery. That consent form that I signed reminded me of something out of a Stephen King novel. I was horrified. I, like you, was in tears before I was finished reading it. I was just about to throw up, in fact, I don't know how I kept from throwing up. And, I live about two hours from the doctor. I had to drive home in rush hour traffic!!

I had the same feelings you're having. How do I get out of this?! I called the dr's office the next day, and spoke to him on the phone. He told me that if I didn't go ahead and have the surgery, I would definitely end up with a Cholostomy (spelling). That did it for me. I had a better chance having the surgery. There were two specialists on call when I had surgery, but neither were needed. My dr was able to get all the endo without perferating anything.

He had to do a vertical incision, but my bowel is in tact. I know saying try not to worry is easy for me, but you really have to try and relax. You have to keep your strength so you're recovery will be smooth.

Call your doctor, as many times as you need to. I'm sorry you're going through this, and I hope venting here helps you as much as it helps me.

Take care, I'll say a prayer for you.

Hey Gals:

Heres a kicker..

I mean..after the rectal surgery..couldnt endometriosis or adhesions come back again...?? Even after the overies are gone, body still produces estrogen.. I wonder if there is a way to know reoccurance of endo post-hyster...

I just want to thank all the gals for their wonderful comments..How did I get so lucky to find this site?
