bruise, pain and bleeding from uretha after doctor exam

I went last week to a doctor I had seen before about my fibroid and possibly cutting it out. During initial exam and sonogram he found adenomyosis (sp) and since I had had heavy bleeding before my fibroid was found I knew I would have to have a hysterectomy due to aden and nothing can be done for it. Anyway I went back to this guy last week to talk about hyst and he did another exam to see whether to do vag or abdominal hyst and he was also going to check for bladder support although I told him I was not having any problems in that regard. Anyway the exam was the worst - i was pretty traumatized after it was over. He was checking my cervix so he said and that was pretty painful (I have had many exams due to my fibroid and nothing like this one) and then he went in with a cotton swab with iodine to check my bladder/uretha and had me cough and any way it stung and I was very uncomfortable and since that exam I have had pain like in my ovaries - both sides but one side worse than the other. THe really bad side I have a lump also and when I pick up anything over five pounds or do any kind of pushing it really hursts. I have also been bleeding from my uretha and it is not spotting because it is a small spot the size of a pencil eraser and it bleeds every time I pee and not at any other time.

I do not want to go back to this doctor but may today just to tell him what he did to me. Any ideas on the lump, pain and bleeding from uretha. ANybody have an experience like this.

I'm sorry you had such a bad experience at the doctor. I have had painful exams my doc did an ultrasound in his office and it was quite painful but the pain did go away. I would suggest you see another doctor ASAP to get checked out as this does not seem normal to me. Good Luck and I hope you find someone else very soon who does not beleive in causing someone so much pain

I believe from your description he was pulling on the cervix to see how tight the ligaments are and if he would be able to do a vaginal hysterectomy vs. abdominal. I had this done and yes it is somewhat painful when done but my dr. informed me to expect some bleeding. However he meant vaginal bleeding. Is it possible that the bleeding you see could be iodine solution that looks like blood? Is this lump new or could it be the fibroid? I would give the nurse a call to discuss your concerns if you are really uncomfortable. You're dr. should have informed you better or tell what to expect. What's this about a bruise?

THank you for your help. I meant to type lump instead of bruise. There is no bruise just a lump on my side to the side of my abdomen. It will have been a week Thursday since the exam and it is not spotting. I know what spotting is and this is just like a little spot the size of a pencil eraser like it is trying to heal over but then every time I pee I get a little plug of this blood the size of an eraser and then a little fresh blood after that like it is trying to heal but every time I wipe it has to start healing over again. I don't know. I am really frustrated. The doctor'f office told me to come back in and I might but just to let him know what he did.
