Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy for endometrial cancer

Hello everyone, I thought that I'd share my post op story with a little timeline so that you a n see how things have played for me.

July 19- BSO done due to family history of ovarian cancer.
Aug 21 - no ovarian cancer detected but endometrial cancer found.
Sept 2- total lap hysterectomy for endometrial cancer. Diagnosed stage 1, grade 1a.

Sept 30 - went back to work at four weeks, promptly finished my shift and had another week of realising it was way too early.ring receivers was caring for elderly mother in law visiting from uk. Her flight landed two days after I was discharged, couldn't have been at a worse time but couldn't be predicted!

Monday October 7- back to work. I am a nurse and strugged with the fatigue and swelly belly continually. Tried to take constant breaks but as a nurse......not able to do it! Had elderly mother in law visiting from uk so was coming home to cook, clean etc too.

* bled on and off for five weeks post op but this settled.

Didn't attempt sex until 6 weeks. That was our release date!!! First few times very sore but it has got better and better!

December - found I had intermittent pain and bleeding.

January - saw gynaecologist for this and was found to have a lump. Anxious wait for results. Luckily benign.

Feb - pain continued so referred back to oncologist, CT scan being completed on Monday and another wait for results. Possible diagnosis, bowel issues, renal or adhesions.

That's my story.

Plus sides:
* I no longer need "that aisle" in the supermarket!!!
* I can wear white trousers anywhere and Anytime I want
* go swimming whenever
* not have to plan holidays around that time of the month.

Good luck to all of you going through this. There is light at the end of the tunnels. Sometimes the light goes on near do off does get better!!
