Bowel Prep

Hi DJ!

I would not do any preps without checking with the dr first. There are different reasons for different preps and if you have other health issues, your dr may do things even differently. So, please check first.

Check with your Dr, I had to do the prep because I had a laperoscopy for Endo. and they found a lot of adhesions in my bowel area. This was just a precation that my Dr. reccommended in the event they ran into a complication caused by the Endo.
Always go with what your Dr reccommends, every situation is diffrent.

Hi, Allison -

Were you given Fleet Enema or Liquid Fleet Laxitive? Different doctors do different ones. The idea behind either is to..umm..clean you out. So, you want to stick close to home and close to a bathroom. That's the most important advice I can give you

I had the liquid stuff, and was on all liquids the day before surgery. It wasn't the most pleasant thing in the world, but not the worst. The liquid tasted pretty bad, though some women mixed it with fruit juice instead of water and said that helped. I just mixed with water, swallowed fast and then drank a lot of water. Surprisingly, I wasn't hungry that day despite an all liquid diet.

As far as what liquids to eat - you need to follow the doctor's instructions on that. I had to have only clear liquids (jello was ok, too), and was given a very good list of what was ok and what wasn't. Please check with your doctor
