Smile - Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy for Endometriosis Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy for Endometriosis

I am writing this 6 weeks post-op. On 12/30/13 I had a total Laparascopic hysterectomy, and it was the best decision of my life! I feel incredible and do not regret it at all.

My story...

After a lifetime of suffering with endemetriosis, surgery and an ectopic pregancy I decided that it was time to end my misery. That said, I went into surgery with a positive, excited attitude, not to mention crippling cramps from an impending period. I woke up after surgery in zero pain, with no issues from anaesthesia. After sleeping several hours, I got up and walked the halls. Went back to sleep and went home the next morning after getting an estradiol patch. I continued to take my pain pills for two days, but realized that I didn't even need them, so I stopped. My recovery was pain free and so easy, I was amazed!!! My energy started coming back and went back to work on day 12. I was just cleared to return to normal activity, including sexual activity with my husband. Have to say its better than ever!!

I do believe that having a positive attitude is very important. Had to share my story, as I had read a lot of negative and scary stories before surgery, and am glad that did not deter me. I realize that each of us are different, but my experience was absolutely pain free Good luck to all who make the same decision. So glad to have my energy and life back!!!!
