Have my pre-op, today...

Is there anything SPECIFIC that I should be asking about? I have to go to the hospital after my Dr's appt for blood and urine samples. I guess my anesthesiologist is going to call me the night before surgery.. What should I ask him? There is a rare neuropathy disease that runs in my family and so the *general* has me a bit freaked, but I've had it before and although it made me very loopy for weeks, all in all it wasn't too bad.. I guess I just have to remember to mention the neuropathy thing to him.. Well, I'm blabbing now... LOL My nerves are uhhhhh, SHOT!

Hey Julie!

Go to the drop down menus on this website and check out what to ask pre-op. It has a lot of questions I did not think of asking.
Also, your anesthesiologist is your voice during surgery, make sure he/she knows how you feel about pain meds in your IV after surgery and nausea meds if you need them. Now is the time to make your preferences clear to the hospital staff. Best of luck to you!
