1st cat scan tomorrow

Hello. Just a week and a half ago I was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer. It was a total surprise. I never even had an abnormal pap before. I'm 34 with a 2 1/2 year old daughter. I had the Leep last week and saw the gyn oncologist yesteurday. He's scheduled a cat scan for tomorrow to help with the staging. He believes that it is 1b or 2a, but of course I'm scared to death that it is more. It seems that the news just keeps coming. Once this is done, I will schedule my TAH for the following week.

This site us absolutely wonderful and has really been a blessing to me. I printed out the questions to ask the gyn oncologist and brought it with me.

1st cat scan tomorrow

Hi julie, welcome to cancer concerns

The girls on this forum have all had some experience with cancer of some kind. It isn't a great thing to be told you have cancer, but somehow you seem to find the strength to get through whatever you have to.

I didnt have a CAT scan to stage my cancer , just surgery /pathology. Mine was 1A but an aggressive type, so hence my radiation treatment.

Most times a hyster is all that is needed to remove the cancerous tissue.

Please remember we are all here any time you need us. hugs and love x x

Best of luck with your scan xx

I am so sorry that you are having this scare in your life. Cervical cancer is VERY curable, and it sounds as if your doctor is being very thorough so that he can help you make the right decisions for your medical care.

Good luck with your CT scan tomorrow. I hope it brings the best possible information. I will be keeping you in my thoughts.

Good Luck...tomorrow.
I am sure you are scared to death. I know I was when I was diagnosed, Iwas 37 at that time. Here it is a year later. I am feeling good. I had endometrial cancer, stage 2b. As Robyn, the odds are in your favor. our prognosis should be excellent.
Huhs and prayers to you

1st cat scan tomorrow

Hi Julie,
Sending more good wishes for your scan tomorrow. We will all be with ya there holding your hand. Its amazing how we all seem to fit into those rooms everytime one of us has a scan or test of some sort, but we are always there.
My sister had cervical cancer 20 years ago now when she was 32, and the hyster took care of all of it and she is just fine!
Keep good positive thoughts!
Sending big hugs to you,
