Did anyone need a chair in the shower after hysterectomy?

While prepping for my surgery in 3 days I wondered if anyone found the need for a chair in the shower after surgery? After my tummy tuck 9 years ago I wasn't able to stand up straight for very long and found a plastic chair very helpful.

Re: Did anyone need a chair in the shower after hysterectomy?

I had LAVH and showered the day after surgery. Did not need a shower chair for assistance.

LAVH here, and no assistance needed--from a human or from a chair.

How many incisions did you have and how did the surgery affect your tummy tuck?

I have 4 tiny holes , I had laparoscopic ..
It didn't change anything or cause any complications , make sure your dr knows you had a tummy tuck... I am still very swollen, I had my surgery may 1...

Re: Did anyone need a chair in the shower after hysterectomy?

Thanks for the information. My Dr. definitely knows about my tummy tuck and she knows how worried I am that she may have to convert to an open incision if she runs into problems. I really don't want any incisions, but can't avoid that. Just wondered how scarred you were. It's no fun to recuperate after a tummy tuck to have it all been for nothing. I just hope my muscles keep their strength if she has to do an open surgery.

Re: Did anyone need a chair in the shower after hysterectomy?

I had a TAH with a 7" vertical incision. When I got home on the third day after surgery, I headed straight for the shower! I had no problems standing in the shower, reaching up to wash my hair, etc. I should note, however, that I have a shower stall, which is easier to step into than a tub.
