Firmer abdomen

Hello everyone. Has anyone noticed that their abdominal muscles are tighter after a abdominal hyster?

My hyster is scheduled on Wednesday, April 17th.

Ha - I wish!

Read my Kangaroo Pouch post. I WISH this surgery would have tightened everything up, but no luck here!

My first complaint to my doctor...."but I still have my old body". Other than my huge fibroid being gone...I didn't notice any tightening"

You've Got To Be Kidding!!

If only it could happen!!

Knowing I had an enlarged uterus, and HUGE fibroids I had great expectations of a much smaller tummy......well I hate to be the bearer of bad news but........the good ole "swelly belly" prevails!!

I'm now 3.5 weeks post op. Last week I decided to see if my good ole worn out, a bit too big jeans would fit......What a bummer!

Now don't get me wrong here, I have read a "FEW" posts where the gals have slipped right back in the more ways then one I might add.......but for the most part I think we all have to get use to the new "temporary swelly belly" I look at it as a reminder that I'm still a "Pampered Princess" and need to be treated as such!

For those of you who can wear jeans at 4 weeks......count yourself very those of us who can't......demand more pampering, and log on here often!!

(((((((HUGS)))))))))))) to all!!

Hey, guys, I've been had by my doctor. He said, and I quote, "you will have a flat stomach when I finish with you".

Well, it's been six weeks and someone has forgotten to let the air out of this old tire. I'm trying to be optimistic about it in knowing that with all the work that was performed, we have to be patient and wait it out.

Sigh, sigh, sigh. I'm waiting for the day I can put on my swimsuit and not look like a beached whale !!!!

yes they will be tight

Your muscles will be tight...that's because they are sewn together!!! Every time you go to lay back you'll feel how tight they are. Every time you cough or sneeze you'll see how tight they are. It's not the tight we wanted but thery're tight!!!

I am new here and laughing so hard at the messages about "firmer abdomens", that the staples are hurting in my abdomen (all 22 of them)!

I had my hyster on April 10th, and was home again by April 12th, as the hospital needed the bed.

Anyway, I have noticed that my swelly belly isn't as bad as I thought it would be. Let's hope that once I can have BM's, things will get even better!

Good Luck All! A nurse told me about this site, and I am thrilled it exists. Now if I can only stop laughing until the staples are out on Friday!

I must be one of those lucky gals. I went into the hospital wearing jeans and came home wearing those exact jeans and I've lost 5 lbs in 2 weeks as well. I swear by the walking and drinking water.

I feel tighter muscles but still have my kangaroo pouch as well from having 2 c-sections

Just a thought from me
