Looking good

My surgery is scheduled for April 24.

On April 23 I am having my nails done, (airbrushed) and my hair colored, trimmed and styled.

When my dh asked why I am doing all this just to go to the hospital and then be out of work for 4 weeks, my 13 year old dd said, "Because it will make her feel better, Dad!"

Ah, the wisdom of the young!

That is the cutest thing I've ever heard! You must have trained that girl right! I also have a 13 yo daughter and I found that she was very sensitive to what I was going through, even though she hasn't started her period yet!

Hi, Cherilynn,

Some hospitals will insist that you remove nail polish before your surgery, so please check with your hospital before your manicure. The pulse oximeter, which measures the oxygen in your bloodstream, by shining a light through your nailbed, may not work with nail polish. I'd hate to see a lovely manicure go to waste!
