Anxious in Annapolis

I'm not sure where I should be posting here yet, but I took a stab at here.

Last Thursday I had a endometiral diopsy done at my GYN. I've been in menopause for three years and recently started spotting with cramps. I had a sonogram which showed four fibroids and the wall of the uterus was thickened to 10cm so that's why she did the biopsy. I have been waiting a week now for the results and am anxious about the results. I even laid in bed last night and went over in my head how I would react if it was good new and then bad news. Isn't this silly for a 55 YO woman. My dh and family are so sure it will be negative, but I have a gut feeling it won't.

Dr thinks I should have results by end of this week. Isn't today the end of this week? Can you feel my anxiousness? I know you've all been through this waiting for results, but this is my first experience. I guess I must learn patience. I keep you all posted when I hear.

Hi Bonnie, you will hear time and time again - the waiting is the worst part...that not only means waiting for the hyster surgery but also and especially for pathology results. And in the waiting time , the mind seems to just love thinking the worst or imagining all sorts of things. So what you are going through is so normal. Which of course doesnt make it any easier.

I have no experience with endo cancers so I cant advise there but the end of the week I would think is Friday. So give it another couple of days and I am sure if it is bad news the Dr would ring you immediately. In the meantime , hang out here with us. We will hold your hand as you wait. Dont forget we are always here with you

welcome bonnie!

I live in Howard County -so welcome to another Maryland sister. I think waiting is the worst part - feeling like you don't know whwen bad news is going to hit...

You might want to think about calling the drs. office late Thursday afternoon and talking to one of the nurses. Maybe they can tell you if the report came back and when the doctor will call. I have found being proactive keeps my anxiety in check, but others might prefer to just forget the whole thing for a few days.

Isn't this heat weird???

Thanks for the welcome ladies. :

Dorrie I was going to wait until Friday to call, but maybe I'll call later today. My daughter is a nurse and she is encouraging me to be proactive also. Guess I just have to be more assertive. I'll keep you all posted.

Robyn, Thanks for understanding what I'm going through. Maybe all this worry is for naught.

This MD heat is unbelievable! What's going to happen when summer comes?

Joy!

Just wanted to let you know that biopsy came back as normal cells.
I'm so thrilled! Guess my family was right all along.
I may still need a hyst though, since I have been in menopause for three years now and started spotting and have cramps. I do have a couple of fibroids the size of large marbles so they think they may be twisted and causing me problems. So I have an appt with dr on May 8 to discuss hyst. Thanks again for all your support.
