Post op symptoms or HRT?
Hello! This is so hard, not knowing which is making me feel this way, the MAJOR surgery I just had or the HRT that I have never been on! I understand that the tenderness, the fatigue, and the gas pains are all because I am only 3 days post op, but I am getting very dizzy! Is this from the anestetic? Or could it be the estrace? I have only been on the HRT for 3 days, so maybe I can not tell anything yet, but when I get up I am very off balance! So far no hot flashes, mood swings, night sweats, ect...and I know those, experienced them with my Lupron, but I am hoping this dizziness is something that will eventually be gone? Any ideas?
Thanks for all your help!

Post op symptoms or HRT?
Hi, MJM93,
Are you taking narcotic pain medications, like percocet, vicocin, codeine? These can sometimes cause dizziness.
I'd suggest calling your doctor, because I'm concerned about your safety. Please let your doctor know about your dizziness, as soon as possible.
Best wishes,
Helen

Post op symptoms or HRT?
Hey. Kept my right ove and still felt what you are experiencing now. It went away after a few weeks. My ovary does function. Didn't need HRT. Wait and see or talk to Dr or both.

Post op symptoms or HRT?
I had the same experience with dizziness. I started with Premarin in the hospital on day 2. I wasn't sure what was causing the dizziness, the pain meds, anesthesia or HRT. I asked my pharmacist and he said the premarin could do it but so could everything else. Probably was a combination of all of the above. The dizziness lasted for about a week to 10 days. Just be careful till then and if it doesn't subside call your doc. good luck!!!

Post op symptoms or HRT?
Had the same for two weeks after my hsyter. Dizziness abounded and off balance,..well let's just say that my DH would tease me about being drunk without a drop in me!
I kept my ovaries, and dr said it was strictly from the anesthesia and other meds leaving your body. Especially if you had morphine. It can take up to ten days to leave.
Just hold on to something and take it slow,...it will go away. I promise! If you are concerned about levels , ask dre for a blood test to check them. Wouldn't hurt!
Lots of supportive hugs!

Dizziness...
I had dizziness as well. In the hospital they narrowed it down to an anti-inflammatory and took me off of it, but I was really out of it for a few days after I was home. I went to see the dr the Monday following my surgery to have my sucher removed, still dizzy, and he said it was most likely from the anesthesia and the breathing tube irritating my inner ear tubes. They say it doesn't happen often, but my dr experienced the same thing after a surgery he had undergone. Thankfully, it went away and I feel fine now...hang in there, and if you're still having problems...call your dr. Take care...

Dizzy Dames
I've had the dizziness too, and I think it has started to get better this week. I'm also using Estradiol. I think it takes quite a while to rid yourself of all the medications used in the anesthesia. I've been told it takes at least one week, but I have also been told I am a slow metabolizer, which would make sense that I would take longer to shed the effects of medication.
Also, are you anemic from before the surgery? I am, and was also told it is one of the symptoms of anemia, so that will just take time to build up more red blood cells.
