I went to cook dinner a few days after my surgery and realized that my Le Crueset pans way exceeded the lifting limit and were in the very bottom cupboard. Had to wait til my husband got home. I was feeling great and my dr gave me few restriction, heavy lifting, heavy exertion, swimming/bathing, sex. But one restriction was that I could not carry the laundry basket up or down the stairs. I don't even like to do laundry, and actually my husband does it more often than I do during normal times, but for some reason I was obsessed with doing the laundry by myself. My husband would have been happy to do it. I found myself bargaining with my dr at my 2 week post op to lift that restriction. She was adamant that she didn't want me to do it, and even I didn't know why I was being so insistent. She commented that I was probably feeling useless, and I think that she was right! So we compromised that I could put the laundry (not too heavy) in a bag and hold it with one hand so that the other was free to hold the handrail. I happily started doing the laundry, which I am now wishing was still restricted, ha ha
My cast iron pan and my favorite pot are both too heavy to lift. I just wait until somebody is around to get them out for me or I will ask my son to leave it on the stove top if I think I want to use them.

And I do not miss doing laundry. I have been avoiding the basement because that is were my hot tub is that I can't use

I swear hospitals should give out those grabby things as a gift with each hysterectomy. They make enough money for it! lol
I had 2 in case I dropped the first one which I did. Smart husband...

So hubby came home and flipped the couch over. 1. I am surprised the thing was still under there. And 2. I'm surprised I didn't rip open every incision I have from jumping in the recliner and screaming like my life depended on it. It was a huge black furry spider. I am officially moving lol. I haaaattteee spiders

This has been one of the fun parts, I promise I've done it just because my son gives me the most dastardly looks....(We have a dog that if we are swimming and don't pay attention to her she will drop her ball into the pool and then just look so innocent like "I don't know how that happened, but you need to get it for me.") As my son retrieves the dropped item he calls me by the dogs name...

NavisiaKatu , It sounds like you scared the spider so, it didn't move either!!

I've beed an airhead starting just before surgery. I wrote three checks to pay one bill just before surgery...within 4 days and no checks written in between. It seems now,I lay something down and then spend the next hour looking for it. PLEASE someone tell me it's not permanent!
