Hello Ladies,

I am two weeks post op today! Wooohooooo I made it this far. I have a question that my doc really dont want to answer for me. When I was send home from the castle all he put was for my activity to be as tolerated. I know that many people get much more strict instructions. I had a TAH/BSO with removal of appendix. I would love to hear more doctors views of what i should and shouldnt do. I just dont want to try something and it be too much. I would like to have more set limits, I just dont want to over do it and without them I feel I will. Thanks for all the support and help.

God Bless all the ladies in waiting and all the ladies on recovery road.

Hi!

I'm glad you are doing so well. On the main page of the HysterSisters site, there are pull down menus at the bottom center of the page. One is for punctured princesses. You can find all sorts of things there.

I was told for the first 6 weeks, no lifting over 10 lbs. and no bending or stretching. Nothing in the vagina for 2 months. Alternate resting with walking and drink lots of liquids and build my strength up gradually.

Hope this helps.

2 Weeks Post Op too!

I too am two weeks post-op today also. The only thing my Doc said to me was, that I am to listen to my body and don't over do. He said to get plenty of rest, drink lots of liquids and call him if I should have any problems. I have been so darn bored though! I have plenty of energy and I am sure to be repremanded by the pillow police, but I have even picked up my 10 month old grand-daughter. I do bend over, but I haven't had any reprecussion so far (knock on wood)!

I have however, started to bleed again and I understand (by reading all these posts) that this is normal at the two week mark. Because stitches have dissolved and the body takes over to heal itsself. Right everyone???

I go for my Doc. appt. this Thursday and he will give me further instructions, I hope he finds me healing well!

Just take it easy and remember that this surgery does take a long time to heal (even beyond the 6 or 8 weeks that Docs give us before sending us back to work) and most people I hear say that a good 12 months is pretty much the time it takes to COMPLETELY heal. You know your body, again, listen to it.

I hope you make a speedy recovery!

God Bless!

Noel

My doctor emphasized no vacuuming and no grocery shopping. Also many princesses here have found Wal-Mart to be very dangerous. You go in just to get out of the house and walk around a little bit, and then BAM! You're back on the sofa for three days.
