I'm going nuts!!!

My family is driving me crazy!

My Mom keeps saying she's moving because her upstairs neighbors are making too much noise. But she can't decide where she wants to move and every other day, she changes her mind. My Mom is 73 and disabled, so if she moves, guess who has to do all the heavy stuff - yep, me!!! Finally today, I got aggravated and told her that she isn't moving anywhere, that I can't handle it anymore, and to just stay where she is and buy some earplugs!

My son is flying down tomorrow to go to court for his "driving on a suspended license" charge. He booked a flight that lands in Tampa (40 miles away) at 11 a.m. when I'm working. There is no one else to go get him because his sister's car is broken down, and I can't let her drive mine cause she isn't insured! I can't take time off from work for a three hour trip to the airport, and then have to take him to court and back to the airport on Thursday! I need all of my vacation/sick time for surgery!!!!

In addition, my daughter doesn't have a job and thinks I'll pay her rent at the end of the month. She has a sunburn, so she can't even go look for one! (Her excuse!)

On top of all of this, I'm dealing with my very last period, I have horrid cramps, and today is the busiest day of the year at work. (It got so bad earlier, that my brain "froze up" and I had to "reboot" it, just like my computer when I try to get it to do too much.)

Why do they all do this to me when I've got so much stress on me already? It's like they're playing "Let's See Who Can Make Lisa Crack Up First!") I think I'll run away from home. AAAAUUUUGGGGHHHHH!!!!!

Lisa

You can come stay with me!!

Hi Lisa!

First off...'s!!! It sounds like you really need them!! I would tell your son that he can take a taxi to his court date and then back to the airport. It's not your fault that he drove with a suspended license!! He's a big boy, even if you are his mom, he needs to learn to take care of himself on occasion!!!! Regarding your dd, I don't know what to do there!! If she really wanted/needed a job, I don't think a sunburn should stop her (I know it never stopped me!!)

As I said in the subject, you are more than welcome to stay with me!!!! I'll take you in and pamper you!!!

Hopefully, things will get better soon! Just be sure to let them know that while you do love them, you have an awful lot on your plate with out trying to solve their problems too!!!

I'm going nuts!!!

I agree,

It may be best to let him take a taxi in from the airport. Perhaps a little accountability for driving while suspended may help deter future infractions of the law :-).

I wouldn't spend your precious vacation/healing time on airport runs - you need the time for *you*.

Take Care and pamper yourself - take a hot bubble bath by candlelight to try and reduce some stress. In addition, maybe you can use some earplugs for *yourself* and block out the distractions (grin).

Take caree of yourself and I hope you are able to relax a little more!

Thanks Ladies

I am sorry to be such a whiner lately. I guess I'm riding the hormonal, stressed-out rollercoaster right now.

I'm buying my daughter a battery for her car tonight so she can pick up her brother and haul him where he needs to go. That way too, she can get off her duff and get a job.

I'm planning to go home and take your suggestion, Soulful. A nice, hot candlelight bubble bath sounds like just the ticket (with the telephone ringer turned off, of course!) Then I'm going to curl up on the couch and watch a good movie a friend loaned me. Hopefully, I can unwind a bit before I totally snap!

I've also decided to "run away from home" this weekend, on a smaller scale. A friend and I are going to the beach for a night. A little R and R involving floating around in a tropical swimming pool, sitting in the sun watching the crabs scurrying around and the sun set over the Gulf of Mexico, and dining at a wonderful seafood restaurant on Anna Maria Island sounds like heaven right now.

Thanks for offering to let me stay with you, Cat. If you weren't so far away, I just might take you up on it.

s to you all for listening.

(Sheesh, how am I going to ever make it another month! Maybe I should bum some tranquilizers off my doc.)

Enjoy the R & R

You know, if you keep floating in the Gulf of Mexico, you'll be here before you know it!! Just Kidding!!

Anyway, you know that we are always here for you. Maybe not physically but definitely spiritually and most definitely emotionally!!!

Take that much needed time for yourself!!!

Lots and lots of hugs coming your way!!!

I'm going nuts!!!

Well Good luck and please have some extra seafood for me (grin). I told my hubby that the first meal I have when I get home is a lobster dinner!

I am really happy to hear you cae up with the solution of getting a car battery for your sister's car and getting her to do the airport run for you.

Chin Up!

Honey...STOP! They're all adults. Let them fend for themselves for awhile. They'ff depend on you as long as you let them. They've gotten themselves into some minor messes. They can get themselves out. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF for the next 6-8 months. Yes, months!!!!! What's the worst that could happen? The'll get mad and not talk to you? MEans they can't ask for anything if they're not talking. Right? PEace and quiet at last. The last thing you need right now is stress.

Take care. God bless.

I'm going nuts!!!

Hi, Shashi,

These sisters are all correct! Let your family figure it out themselves. It sounds like they're all adults (or close to it).

Save your sick days & sanity! You'll be on the other side with me soon.

Don't forget, our castle is the best!

I agree with all...Tell your adult children you love them deeply BUT......

put them on notice, that you will not be bailing them out.

and stay true to your committment. You will be amazed...

Mom is a different story. Go easy. I know it is hard.

A weekend away...now you're cooking!

Hang in there

What a wise group of women. I'm glad you'll be doing something for yourself this weekend! Have something with a pink umbrella in it for me!
