My surgery is on hold for now, but thank anyway

I wasn't sure how to get my name off of the calendar for today.

I found out last week that I need to have open-heart surgery first to repair my mitral valve. I went to the cardiologist to get clearance for the hyster, but he sent me for some tests and they determined I should have the valve fixed first.

So, I would like to send my best wishes and hopes for a speedy recovery to the rest of them today too, and I'll keep hangin' around and check in now and then.

My heart surgery will be asap after May 19, (my parent's Golden Wedding Anniversary), and then I'll have to wait at least 3 months for the hyster.

I'm trying to get a pap appt right now, so I know if there is still any cervical dysplasia after the cone I had done in Jan. They gave me a date of May 14, which is day 25 of my cylcle, and I've had 25 day cycles, I don't want to take that chance. I know the heart surgery has to come first, but I'd at least like to know what 's going on down there before I have it. That way if it is normal, I won't have to worry about it, and if not, at least I'll know it needs to be done as soon as I recover from the other surgery. I was supposed to have a pap every 3 months if I'd opted to forego the hyster for now, and now I have no choice in the matter. Why does it take so long to schedule a pap? I don't get it!

((((weekycat)))))

You can change your surgery date by clicking the purple UserCP button and editing your profile. Please let me know if you have any difficulty with this; I will be more than happy to help.

And about those pap smears: I know! I don't get it either! TSK!

Best wishes to you as you have your heart surgery; our thoughts and prayers will be with you.

Please let us know how things progress for you.
