enlarged uterus

Hi everyone I'm so glad I found this board. Let me tell you alittle about myself. I'm 32yrs old and have 4 beautiful children. I had a tubal after my youngest in 1998. I have been having alot of problems. Really bad pains all the time. It is really affecting my life. Well tomorrow I'm having a D&C and a lap done. The doctor suspects adhenions, adnomeyosis, and endometrious. I also so found out today by reading my records that I had to take to outpatients. That I have an adnormal uterus and it's about the size of a woman that would be 7 wks pregnant. Now that is from doing a vaginal exam on Feb. 4th. Will know more tomorrow. He said if he finds somthing he will fix it and if not or if he sees something we will talk about a hysterectomy. So I have a question. I read on the board yesterday about a web site you could go to to see what is the normal size of a uterus. So can yall please help me find it. Thank yall for taking the time to read.

Re: enlarged uterus

[Gina, I believe a normal uterus is the size of a pear. Mine is 12 cm and I have adenomiosis. I too was just diagnosed and I am wondering whether I should have a hysto or try birth control pills. I tried them for one month and ditched them because of headaches, nausea and mood swings. But now I am thinking maybe I should have tried harder before going for a hysto. I am scheduled for June 18th. I am 41 so menopause is a long way away.

enlarged uterus

I have tried the birthcontrol for 2 months and they didn't help. I think they made things worse and they were messing with my montly really bad. On the first month it was only 2 days then the 2nd month it was 1 so my doctor took me off them.
