I'm home for the second time!

Hi there ladies, well I am finally a punctured princess, it really does finally feel good. I came home on Saturday the day after my TVH and bladder tack. All was going well until on Sunday I couldn't pee very well. On Monday I could only manage a trickle. I called the urologist and left a message and finally at 5:30 last night he called back and told me to go straight to Urgent Care. THey tried 3 different catheters and none would go in soooo I was rushed on to Emergency another 5 miles away not good when you have to pee every 2 mins. So I waited in the restroom until they called me in promising they would do what they had to do straight away. Lithocaine is awesome that is all I have to say, she numbed me up really good, my DH let me hold his hand (he said a little too tightly for his liking) and she went to work. Suddenly she shouted "you're peeing like a man" I didn't quite care who I looked like it just felt really great. I donated a half gallon in a minute that had been backing up to my kidneys. I came on this site to get advice on Sunday about the pee thing and gathered it was normal to have trouble urinating after surgery that is why I left it so long. It just didn't feel right and I am so glad I called in to the urologist. I now have to wear the catheter for a week longer. Ladies we all are different and if you feel something is really not right please contact your surgeon. It is stated over and over that this is not a medical site. I can never thank you all for your good wishes and kind words what a great support system we have. Katygirl

Hi Katygirl

I am so sorry you had a problem and that it got so bad before it got better.

You are so right. No one on the boards can possibly know what you are feeling or determine at what stage you need to call a doctor. We all have different symptoms both before and after surgery. But it is much easier to make a phone call to the doc to check things out rather than possibly put ourselves into any jeopardy.

Thanks for the heads-up!!!

Please take good care of your self now and get lot's of

I'm home for the second time!

Thanks for posting and reminding us all that this is NOT a medical site. We are ALL different and we know our own bodies.

BTW, who did you donate the gallon of wee-wee to?

Just kidding. Hope you are feeling much better soon.

Take care and God bless.

P.S.---What is Lithocaine? I'll be having bladder surgery soon and I might need to know what this is, just in case. Thanks!

Lithocaine

Hi Sherl aka Reina, You probably won't get to have the pleasure of this wonderful medicine, it is just like the gel they put on your gums before giving you an injection at the dentist. I was so sore from surgery and the 3 time failure with the catheter that the nurse had no choice but to cover my privates with it. I was very swollen and she couldn't find my urethra without getting physical. It was just a special case and I doubt that it will happen to you. You will be fine, but just remember if you feel something is wrong call the Doctor. Take care and don't worry too much, it will all be over before you know it.
