Silly ? - how many pads to stock up on

I don't want to buy too many, but don't also want to be in a jam without being able to drive. Any feedback from those on the other side?

I don't know what type of hyster you're having, but I had the daVinci and I have needed panty liners. Approx 3 per day. But no pads. I'm almost two weeks out.

Re: Silly ? - how many pads to stock up on

I had a TAH and only bled for two days post op. I bought quite a few pads and didn't get to use any. I will be 5 weeks post op tomorrow and no bleeding or any discharge as of yet. But I would say rather safe than sorry and buy a pack or two then you have it.

Re: Silly ? - how many pads to stock up on

I did not bleed!! Had a few spits in the hospital, after that i wore panty liners just in case, and i had a few pads but never needed them. Spotted a bit the night ibcame home, guessing from the car ride and a 2 AM visit from my cat who jumped right on my stomach!! But some women do bleed, i would have a pack on hand. Is there someone who could get you more if you need them later? I do agree with above, better safe than sorry!!

I didn't bleed at all either, but wore liners just in case for several weeks since my doc had said I might have a little bleeding at 4-6 weeks when the sutures started dissolving. Here's what I kept in mind - I did have a few pads on hand but knew that I could give them to a needy friend afterward.

Re: Silly ? - how many pads to stock up on

I have just kept pantiliners on hand. I have had to use 3-4 a day, just to keep things dry. I do have a minor discharge which my Dr. told I would most likely have for the full 6-8 weeks recovery. Just know that we are all different and heal differently. I would just buy a pack and donate what you do not use once you have healed.

I used 1 the first day and nothing since then. If I were to leave the house I would put on a panty liner just incase.

I didn't use pads either,(for vaginal bleeding anyways) but I did find a new use for them, I stuck them to the inside of my underwear, over where my incision is, so I would have a little extra padding over my incision....lol.

Re: Silly ? - how many pads to stock up on

I had TAH and a box of 20 panty liners (not proper sanitary towels) was ample.

I had a TVH on Thursday. I used what the hospital provided me with and don't really need anything since being home. Everyone is different though.
