Hey ladies! I know I have asked this quesition before but I go for my pre-op Monday, anything specific I need to find out on that day. Surgery is next Friday-getting more nervous everyday. Is there anything I need to look out for once I get home that would be considered abnormal? I sure hope this helps because if it don't I am going to be mad. I am trying my best to stay focused on other things but I can't seem to do that. I have already got my bags and my sons bags packed. I am afraid I am going to forget something. This waiting is driving me crazy!! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Hi, Krissy! Your dr or hospital nurse will give you instructions before you leave the hospital, as well as things to notify the dr about--such as a fever, increasing bright red bleeding, severe pain that your meds don't help, difficulty with urination, etc. You will need to take your pain meds before the pain gets too bad, since it is hard to quiet the nerves after they've been bombarded by pain signals. And rest with your feet up, with only short easy walks the first couple weeks. If you are on your feet too long or doing too strenuous of activity, your body will tell you with pain and swelling! That's when the pillow police show up to put you back to bed! There is a list of questions you might want to ask your dr on the pull-down menus (click on the 3 princesses at the top of the page to find those). s and best wishes for a smooth castle stay!
