Food anyone????

I am 11 weeks post-op. Had a LAVH, kept both ovaires. I still have some food cravings at certain times of the month. Mostly that salty junk. I usually just satisfy the craving, drink some extra water and walk a few extra blocks. It's usually only a couple days out of the month. Maybe your hormone changes since surgery are making it worse. I have not had any hormone chages so maybe some ladies who have might have some solutions for you. Take care.

Food anyone????

Hi There!

Besides hormone issues, another possible explanation is that the body has been working very very hard to heal, using up alot of energy that we're not as plainly aware of as if we were doing exercise or something we know uses alot of energy.

This could be one reason our appetites and cravings seem to increase; I know mine did, too!

Hang in there, sweetie!

Me Too!!!!

I will be 6 weeks post-op Tuesday and I too have the monstrous cravings for chocolate and salt. For example, this week I craved snicker bars and microwave popcorn. Oh it was the best thing that ever hit my tastebuds! You're right, it's just like going through those PMS episodes. Now I find myself ordering Pizza Hut pepperoni pizzas!! I ordered a large one today and ate 3 big slices! It was so good! But I drink a lot of water afterwards.

I'm game for solutions too. I never had a weight problem in my whole life, but I don't want to start one either.

Just had to have a huge bucket of KFC original chicken. Not sure why this particular craving. DH immediately went out and got it for me.
