wow...all the info and well wishes never quite prepared me for the pain, but i'm home and doing well. the hospital staff (for the most part) were great. they had asked if i wanted to recover on the maternity/gyn floor or regular floor, which i thougt was great. never know how each individual woman handles the emotional part of a hysterectomy (no more children) so they gave me the option. i chose the maternity ward and it was great. on a floor with all women, all woman nurses too. felt comfortable and 'loved'.
i thought you all might get a kick out of this:
i went to the kitchen on my floor for juice one morning. talking to a female doctor that was in there at the time. as i opened the fridge, i noticed a tiara on top. i chuckled and she asked what was up. i told her about this site, how much it helped me and 'going to the castle' and my 'coronation'. not only did she laugh with me at the coincidence, but she posted the website name on the bulletin board and said she would pass the word on that there was such a place woman could get support from. by the time our conversation ended...the kitchen was full of about 7 woman...nurses, patients, and the doctor...with me standing there, drinking my juice and wearing the tiara!!!
luck to all going in and thank you again for all the help....see you on the other side!!!
