Hospital Stay Time

I wound up staying from the Weds. I had the surgery through a whole week and going home that next week Thursday. I think the doctor had a lot to do with that--plus a little infection, plus I would be alone, plus my intestinal tract went on a major strike, plus I think the nurses put in a word when they'd see me trudging up and down the hall v-e-r-y slowly. Your doctor will have some say in this, especially if something is slowing you down. It never hurts to ask! (You may wish to leave more quickly once you take a look at the "food" you'll encounter. )

Age is no barrier here Cay!

As I'm sure you are gathering, there are women of all ages here. I am also one of the "younger ones" at 29. My husband and I have no children yet, but I am having a hysterectomy (date to be determined) because of Adenocarcinoma In Situ of cervix. It's the best I can do for myself and the preservation of my own health right now. A hard decision, but a preganancy might cause even more challenges...

I think there are a lot of places that you can get info, on the top of this Cancer Concerns Posting board there is a post entitiled : Helpful Links & Trish's Pathology Dictionary , I have visited many links from there and found it useful. Hope that helps!

All of us are here for you!

Isn't this site WONDERFUL|?????

Cay,
I'm so glad you posted!!! And aren't these women the BEST!!!???? I can't add to anything these ladies have said except that it was actually comforting to hear that someone your age (sorry.... )...I'm 48, loves and cherishes the part of her body that brought 4 children in the world. That was the hardest part for me. I too, have 4 children. And my hysterectomy seemed to have come out of the blue. Thank you for confirming what many women feel. But, I have come to realize that my body parts are not who I am but what is deep within the soul. I am glad to be alive and happy to know there are women here who will be by your side all the way!!!!
