huge fibroids, no symptoms

I've been watching my fibroids for over 10 years. 4 years ago, my dr wanted me to have them out. I read alot and got a second opinion. I changed to my current doctor who had a wait-and-watch attitude. We were hoping I would make it to menopause when the fibroids might shrink.(I'm now 51) But in the last year, the fibroids have doubled in size (largest is 9cm, with many at 5 cm). I'm now scheduled for a SAH on June 17. I got a second opinion from Dr. Goldfarb who wrote the book The No-Hysterectomy Option, and he agreed they should come out. So I have two opinions I trust. BUT, I've never had symptoms besides bloating. I have regular periods, not much pain. so there is still part of me that has doubts. Any advice??

You are lucky to not have any symptoms. You have gotten your opinions but are still doubting? I did that too...I had 4 opinions before I felt comfy. Why not get another one? You need that validation I think. I didn't have fibroids, but they thought I did. Turned out to be adeno instead.

for luck!
