Recovery time for VH and Lupron side effects?

I am schedule for VH on May 20. In the meantime I have taken two shots of Lupron to build up iron level which was too low to risk surgery in March as originally scheduled. I have two questions.

1) What should I really expect for recovery time? My doctor is saying that I should be able to go back to work within one week. I have scheduled two weeks off because I can work from home for one week, but I'm nervous that I am not preparing enough.

2) The Lupron has been wonderful. For the first time in 6 months I am not bleeding. We went to a play Saturday night and I realized that I hadn't looked for "my exits" so to speak. The side effects had been minimal. Hot flashes only. But all of a sudden, starting this weekend (two weeks after shot #2) I have lots of joint aches. My back, my hips, my shoulders, even my fingers. Is this to be expected? I thought I had read something about this but can't recall. Any help and should I be worried?

Recovery time for VH and Lupron side effects?

What type of work do you do? I was told after my vaginal hysterectomy that I could drive between 1 and 4 weeks when I felt comfortable to do so. Check with your vehicle insurance company because some say that they won't cover you for a certain amount of time after major surgery. I was able to feel well enough to drive at 3 weeks. I still was not able to lift or do any strenuous work for 6 weeks. Just because it is a vaginal hysterectomy the same work is done on the inside and you have tons of stitches just no outside cut. Take it easy it is MAJOR surgery. Sitting is an activity so limit it in the first few weeks. I started out no more than 30 min. at a time and gradually increased the time. I wasn't given lupron but was warned that it can cause the symptoms you are experiencing which is one of the reasons I declined but I'm sure others will be along shortly with their experiences. Are you taking any supplemental vitamins or extra iron? Good luck to you.
