Same day as my moms

Hello

My mom had her rad hyst on the 4/19 and she went to get her staples out yesterday and get path report. it's like reading another language. only 2 lymph nodes came back positive it seems like they take out hundreds! She has to have internal/external radiation and will go over the report with her oncologist on may 17th. Is this normal? Has it spread since these 2 came back positive? Gosh so many questions...

questions about my mum

Hi Jettali, I am glad that you posted about your mum. I sure hope I can help

Radiation is normal to have after some types of cancer and it really depends on what stage it is . This is why your mum will be having her discussion with her radiolgist ~ to discuss procedures and to find out all about length etc of treaments. It may be a good idea to try to go with her, to be her extra set of ears.

It is a worrying time for her and you as well, please dont hestitate to post any time you need info. or support. love and hugs x x Tell your mum to keep resting

Yes, do go with Mom if possible

I did all my appointments, etc. alone and I know there was a lot that went in one ear and out the other, even with notes I made from questions I asked. Robyn's advice there is the best. Since you're concerned about the lymph nodes, have Mom ask about that as well. I do know they take a lot from all over to check spread--I had four positive in one area and the others were all clear.

{{Jettali}}

I hope all goes well for your mom, I know this can be a worrying time. The gals have made some good suggestions, a second set of ears and a list of questions made ahead of time helps quite a bit.

Sending lots of positive thoughts and prayers for your mom.

{{hugs}}
