Hi girls, well not much was done in this my first appt. we talked about all that has happened in the past two years..... *phew*

I have to write down my feelings as they come into my mind. All that I think ...are we writing a novel here?
You see she says that I am doing really well.... I have these conversations in my mind but it is the negative one that is causing all the trouble , for instance : I will be going along happily in my life , then I start to think ( I tell ya , thats not good ) and this voice in my head says well cervical cancer is so curable , look at all the women who have had it and are ok. ( thats the good, positive voice ) then the negative voice says ' but... you are different , look at all that you have had done, why is this radiation going to help when nothing else has "

What my therapist is going to do is re train my thoughts to make the positive one much stronger and give me thinking skills .

She is also going to give me relaxtion methods to help when the anxiety gets out of control . She says I am 'fixable'
so there you go but I got to wondering ..... do you all really want me to help when I have voices in my head

That sounds really neat. Training yourself to listen to only the positive voices. I think everyone could use that training! It can serve you in all aspects of life, not just the cancer head. I really hopes it helps. You deserve some peace of mind.

Sounds like you're off to a good start. It will be interesting to hear the specifics that she teaches you. And I think it is most admirable that you are sharing this journey with us.

I'm so glad your first appointment went so well and this is such a wonderful thing you are doing.

Hmmm, writing down "all" thoughts though! Could be interesting eh? Just kidding!

No, seriously, I'm looking forward to hearing about your visits and sincerely hope this helps calm down that darn "Cancer head".

On the bright side--at least the voices are in your head . There are days I'd be better off to tape record myself than write because I find myself talking out loud!

It sounds like you are off to a great start. I just know this is going to help you feel better about things. Between this and the yoga and the eating right, you will be an inspiration to all of us for years to come! I'm so proud of you, Robyn, that you are facing this head on and tackling it! Keep it up.

Hey you comic!

Robyn, again, thanks for putting a smile on my face! You are the best... You are so on top of things, smart, caring and you will benefit so much by your therapy. It is a big commitment, and you have made it for yourself, and your family! Yeah!!!Your therapist sounds great, it is very possible to "retrain" our thought process. I am so happy for you that you made the step. Of course, if I would ever leave the house, I might be able to do it too!!! me! Love ya lots!!!! ssss you !!!!!

Robyn, Would my DH love to have my mind retrained or what! I always think the worst! I try to be positive about my health, but with all I've had wrong with me through out the years, it is very hard for me. Talk about anxiety... I'll bet my BP is sky high when a Dr. come into the room with a diagnosis Good luck, You can do it! Be my roll model.
