I made it through the IV chemo

Hi ladies--

Well, I made it through the first round of the IV chemo and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be! I don't have a port anymore and they had to stick me five (yes, 5) times to find a vein for my blood draw the day before, so I was very nervous that they would not be able to find a vein. My chemo nurse was so wonderful (aren't they all?) and managed to find one in my hand on the first try, and the chemo went on without incident. I don't feel too bad today, just some very minor nausea and my hands and feet feel kind of hot, but that is to be expected. All in all, things are going much better than I had hoped and it's a relief to have the first round under my belt, so to speak. I wanted to thank all of you wonderful ladies for your thoughts and prayers as I am going through this ordeal -- you are the best!

Love always,

Yea! One down. You will get through this, and this time will fly by!!

As far as being stuck 5 times....you don't have to be their orange!! If they don't get it in 2, next time ask for the IV team!

Think good and happy thoughts!!

That's the Badger Spirit!

Thata Doxil is going to knock this out for good! Sorry about the vein problem--I have very bad veins and for some odd reason last Dec. in the ER they wouldn't use the port and blew THE good vein on the first try. I wound up with so many sticks and holes I couldn't count. Have you thought about another port? Anyway, I'm so glad you made it through that first one so well--the first of something is always the scariest and now--under your belt!
