I'm afraid

Hi Liz! Glad to see you posting about this.

You are feeling the common, normal, HUMAN, feelings that we all have before a life-changing major surgery.

If you keep one ovary you will not be in menopause as that will provide you with enough hormones. If both ovaries are removed you will be in surgical menopause. You didn't say why you were getting a hyster done...have you been told that your ovaries will be removed?

I was totally lucky. I worked myself up for everything gone. Tubes, ovaries, uterus and cervix. When I awoke in my room, my hubby told me that I still had my ovaries. I didn't believe it or him! I made him get the doc and she told me they were *pristine* which is why I have that in my signature~I knew y'all wanted to know this. I had her repeat it about 20 times I think. I always plan for the worst and hope for the best. Part of being military I think, right Amy S?

Don't worry about the issues you have mentioned, the most important thing about the surgery to remember is that you will be given a new, better way-of-life. No more pain/bleeding. I know I was scared to death and almost called it off as well a few times. I only had 7 days notice, so that was pretty rough on me.

Remember to read the pull down menus on the main page www.hystersisters.com and that the waiting is the worst part, REALLY!
