No more periods! Woo hoo!

Like many of you, I go through times when I feel pain, frustration, anxiety as I recover.

Then I read something about menstruation and I realise how happy I am that I never have to deal with that again.

And my periods were relatively easy.

Re: No more periods! Woo hoo!

Indeed, that is one of the things I am so excited about. I had horrible periods. Now I can wear white pants, go to the beach whenever I want, not have a pocketbook full of pads.

Re: No more periods! Woo hoo!

Even though I've been having post op complications I am sooooo glad I had my surgery. Found a tampon in my purse the other day and thought thank goodness I'll never need these again
And then my 10 year old daughter got her period. Hahaha! Nothing like going to the store to buy feminine products again!

Re: No more periods! Woo hoo!

I used to bloat up like a blow fish each month. Heat and humidity made it worse. And where I live, we get a lot of heat and humidity. Since my surgery, that is gone! I feel free. So exciting.

Re: No more periods! Woo hoo!

I'm looking forward to the 'no period' thing as well ... although right now I still look like a blow fish with the swelling I'm experiencing.

I'm wearing a binder for most of the day and only just started sleeping without it last night. Although people tell me that I look smaller, since I dropped 10 lbs almost straight out of surgery, I still feel bloated and huge.

That will improve. I've also lost 10 pounds and now at 8 weeks the swelling is almost completely gone. You'll get there!!

Re: No more periods! Woo hoo!

Thanks GuitarChic!

Eight weeks and you're not experiencing any swelling? That's wonderful! I wonder if that's because you had a DvH? I hope not though. I had a TAH and I'm wondering now why the DvH wasn't an option for me. It certainly would have shortened the recovery time.

Can you have a DvH if you have a very large fibroid? My doctor told me he had to make the incision wider than he normally would to accommodate the size of my uterus.

Thanks

No more periods! Woo hoo!

I keep waiting for my period to start then I realize never again. Makes me very happy at that point. Looking forward to not having to worry about scheduling around my periods when going to the mountains.

Overall I feel pretty good. I do have occasional tummy pain but that is muscles working again. I still have help lifting semi heavy things but that is also getting better. I do have days where I get extremely exhausted but that is also getting better.

Life is pretty good at this point!

No more periods! Woo hoo!

I had horrible periods and am thrilled at the thought of no more periods!!! I was going through my coupons today and saw some for pads & tampons...started to cut them out & thought.....hey!!! I'll never need these again!!!! Woohoo!!! Even something as simple as....I was laying on the couch the other day & thought.....it's so nice that I can lay here without having to worry about blood getting on the couch. This is WONDERFUL! !!!!!
