What helped me :-)

Hello!

I just wanted to encourage everyone that it's going to be ok! I'll be four weeks post op on Monday.

Things I think that helped:
Prior to surgery -
Walking
Stopped eating beef a few days before surgery
Took colace- a stool softener- a few days prior to surgery
Made sure I had Gatorade, ibuprofen, post bran flakes, cranberry juice (help fight off uti), yogurt, etc in the house
Cleaned my house extra well
Accepted the offer of friends to bring meals for two weeks
Purchased the ice holding ab binder
Purchased maternity pants and dress from a consignment shop

Day of surgery -
Kept a positive attitude
Warned dr about nausea/anesthesia issues and allergies
Expected to be uncomfortable when I woke up

Since then I've learned that there is a whole range of "normal" in recovery. It's going to be ok 😀

This website has been an invaluable tool and source of encouragement to me. It's a comfort to know women all over the world are experiencing the same things as I am.

Good luck on your journey. Rest- even if you don't sleep - rest. And don't try to rush your recovery. You simply can't!!!
