Had my pre-op appt yesterday. Went very well. My pre-op nurse was awesome. He told me all about waking up and seeing three nurses when there is only one, then two, then one--at which point he said they would remove the oxygen mask that I will have been trying to get off for a while. He also told me about how the anesthia leaves the body. He said I would shiver like crazy, but not to worry it is normal and they would provide me with warm blanks. He said once I've settled down they would take me to my palace. I feel very fortunate to have had a nurse that explained things in "real" terms.

Can't believe Friday is the big day. I am getting pretty nervous. It seems like I am in a complete fog...this is all I think about. At work, I cannot concentrate. (Everyone there is absolutely wonderful!) I am so forgetfull.EGHH!

Well hear is to May 17 and all of us! Lots of Luck & prayers...see ya on the other side.

Hi Heather,

Thanks for telling us about your pre-op appointment. I wish that all pre-op appointments were as informative - I would think it would be a benefit to the doctors and nurses, too. When we know what to expect it can really help lessen the anxiety a little, I think.

The waiting is almost over now, and you'll be back soon to tell the other LIW that the waiting part IS the hardest part!! I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

I remember the shaking feeling but no one ever explained why after my gallbladder surgery. Hmm.. that is really good to know! Thank you!
