9 days out from robotic total vaginal hysterectomy incl cervix - yellow discharge

Recovery is going well. 5 small incisions healing. Gas was bad up until 3 days ago. Today i have a yellowish discharge from vagina. Not much just smears on underwear but it hasn't been there before. I no longer have a cervix... where is it coming from and is something wrong? Kind of freaked out. See dr for post op on the 15th. Can it wait til then? 5 more days.

Re: 9 days out from robotic total vaginal hyst incl cervix

Discharges are not unusual after hysterectomy as the area is healing. It would likely be coming from the vaginal cuff. Sometimes discharge starts up as internal stitches dissolve. It is generally only a concern if it has a strong odour (implying possible infection instead of just inflammation as you heal). Your appointment is just few days away. I'm sure you can comfortably monitor yourself and contact your Dr's offce if you get concerned. Odour or anything like fever/body aches would imply you're fighting something and need to get checked sooner.

Best wishes on your continued recovery.
