Lady in Waiting May 24th

I have 9 days and counting and I can't seem to think of anything else. It thought I had a life but it seems these days that I am consumed with worry about this surgery. My memory is shot, I have bags under my eyes from lack of sleep and my energy level is practically zero....Can I wake up now and this will be all a nightmare?

Ok, I feel better. I am grateful for all you ladies and your encouragement and wisdom. It is helping me so much.

Hi, Nadine,

I wanted to write and say that I understand how you are feeling right now. Unfortunately, I do not have the magic cure to this Lady In Waiting thing. I can tell you that what you are feeling is normal from all I've read hear the last month and that you are certainly not alone. Let's just hope and pray that time will move by quickly and the road to recovery will be a gentle one.

You have my best wishes,

Hi it jlo, I am also the 24th. I have read so much that I am at the point that I cant wait for it to come and be over. I think it is major. I was just like you about 1 to 2 weeks ago. But I have no I have come to the point where I am ready. My head spun for a month..along with tears, fears of dying and all the rest. Its a good place to work these things out (with lots of support) I will be looking for you once we get our crowns!

My surgery date is May 30th, so you will be well on your way to recovery before I go to the Castle. I haven't had the feelings that you mentioned, at least not yet. I'm sure it is normal to be frightened and full of dread. I think the worst part is the fact that we have no control over this but, it has to be done. I am at the point where I just want it to be over and be on the other side of it. I know it is easier said than done, but try not to lose much needed sleep over it. I'm sure it will be fine. After your surgery, let me know what I have to look forward to. LOL Wishing you lots of luck!!!

Hi Nadine,

I totally understand how you feel. I go in a week from today, and I'm having the same problems you describe. Can't concentrate, can't think, can't remember anything, and now I can add can't sleep to the list. (Went to bed at 12:30 a.m. and woke up at 6 a.m. and was awake on and off all night.) It's a wonder to me that I haven't been fired!

To you and to all the LIW, just hang in there. If we focus on the positive benefits and how much better we'll feel once it's all over, we'll make it through!

PS The time will seem shorter if you don't count today or the actual day of surgery itself. In other words, I only have six more days and a wake-up!
