I think it would be a good idea to call your doctor and ask about this??? Don't cause yourself excessive worry and stress about it---call your doctor!

Mine Too

What I thought was my LAST period last month wasn't. I'm taking ten-day cycles of Provera to regulate my period and was trying to cheat a little since the cycle ended on the day before my surgery. I thought by starting the medication cycle later, I could delay my period until my surgery Thursday. Didn't work that way. It started back today, which means it will be going full blast when I go for surgery.

But that's okay. A lot of women are having their periods when they have their surgery. The doctors are used to it, so don't worry about it at all. It's normal. Just tell the nurse in the pre-op area and they'll give you a pad and perhaps some of the mesh panties they have on hand. They'll take care of the rest when you're asleep.

I wondered too if I should continue taking the Provera, but my doctor told me to go ahead with the last cycle. If in doubt, though, call your doctor.

Best wishes,

If you have your period,on surgery day, no biggie-- so did I ! The pre-op nurses and techs take care of you ! Don't know about being on a pill before hand -- speak with your Dr. on that one.

Hope all goes well for you !
