Hi Bamasweetie83 -

The days just before surgery can be emotionally intense, indeed. Your mix of emotions, and your feelings, nerves, and anxiety are very normal.

Try to keep yourself very busy.. that can help. Also, treat yourself to something special that does not violate your doctors orders. Maybe a dinner out with friends or an or

Good luck with your surgery. We will be waiting for you on the other side.

Bamasweetie, it is hard! My surgery is tomorrow and I'm a bit emotional. But, I've been cleaning the house like crazy today so I've kept myself busy. I'm kind of excited to get to relax in my cozy clean house.

Good luck! I'm sure this waiting is the worst part. See you on the other side!

In just about 12 hours I'll be in the operating room! It felt so far away when I booked the appointment, but tonight I feel like time keeps slipping away so fast and I can't get everything done I had wished to! I agree though, I'm looking forward to recovering in my cozy home this holiday season. Positive vibes and wishes for healthy full recoveries for all you ladies!

Hi, best wishes with your upcoming procedure. I too was nervous and all went well. I am 1 yr post op as of today.

You will sleep for sometime afterwards, wondering if it was done once you awake.

I didn't experience extreme pain afterwards and if you drink plenty of water and have bm often, you could minimize the discomfort.

Best wishes once again and do rest for at least a few weeks, even if you feel fine.

Down to 9 hours before time to go, hope I sleep good and not be wide awake panicking about the unknown

I'm actually doing GREAT! I had a rocky adjustment once I left the recovery room - just a lot of anxiety once I began waking up more and more. No real major issues, just odd sensations, and I got worked up. I have since taken a walk, eaten dinner, and been joking with my nurse. I know the road of recovery won't be a cake-walk, but I really do feel confident I can do this! Also of note, while I have a little dull achiness, the spot that used to hurt where the fibroid was doesn't hurt any more and never will again, so hooray for that!!! 😄

I'm in an observation room right now as I say this, only about 8 hours out of the operating room... You will feel so much better once it's over. I promise. I had TONS of nervousness the night before and even on the drive to the hospital, but remember your reasons for choosing this surgery and think about what it will be like to not suffer those problems anymore. I am praying for your comfort and rest tonight, and a smooth procedure tomorrow. Looking forward to hearing how it goes for you. I have faith you'll do great!
