Race for Life

In the UK over the summer different cities stage the 'Race for Life'
This is where women get together to run (or walk) 5km (about 3 miles) to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
I have entered the race in my city on July 3rd, and persuaded a friend to enter with me for moral support. I just felt that I should do my bit, even though I have no idea how I'm going to make it round 5 km.
To meet their targets they need 100,000 women to enter. They already have over 150,000 which is fantastic.

Oh well back to the training, haven't got long to get myself in shape

Good for you!!!! In Phila they have a Whisper Walk (three miles) each September to raise money for ovarian cancer awareness. I did it last year in the midst of chemo. You won't have any problem. Are you planning to walk or run?

Relay for Life Here

Several in the area, actually. A former coworker (in my pre-retirement days) will participate in one and I just sent her a check for two of the luminarias they have and light.

Race for Life

{{Belinda}}

I was able to participate in the Race for the Cure for Breast cancer last year but unfortunately they didn't have a Whisper walk in Colorado (and might I say I was very upset at that). Anyway, the walk went well, it was very upbeat and a very moving experience. I plan on doing it again this year.

I wish you the best for your Race, it really is easier than I thought it would be (although the running part is by far not my forte)

Let us know how it goes.
