Hi Tina!

My story with HRT is long and painful. I'll spare you the gory details and jump to my current situation. After my hysterectomy, my gyn put me on estrogel. It "feels" better to me than any pill and I've been on it for about three weeks now. The only thing I have noticed as far as side effects go are: I get headaches more frequently (but I have a history of migraines) and my breasts are very tender and sometimes sore. I read the page that comes with the gel and these are two common side effects so I'm not terribly worried, but I'll check with my gyn when I see him in June just to be sure.

I think the biggest positive about the gel is that it's not more chemical medications to take. I have had very few hot flashes and they were minimal compared to what I had experienced before. Personally, I think the gel is much better. I'm going to stick with it for another couple of months at least before deciding that I "love" it. LOL! Just my opinion.

Have a GREAT day!

I don't have personal experience with the Sandrena but located some threads where it has been discussed:

Good luck Tina, I hope this does the trick for you.

Hi Tina,
I opened a post in december about sandrena when i started useing it.
I felt better within a hour of rubbing it in, my hubby said "I`ts a miracle the diferance it made to you" even my dd were happy to see me back to my old self. I use one sachet of 5mg every day and can not say i have had any symtoms as yet.
My GP did ask about family history before giving it to me and she told me it was not addictive and i could stop it at any time with no withdrawl.
I hope you get on with it as well good luck let me know.

bye for now
