UTI experiences

I began having alot of cramping three days ago. It got worse and worse, so I finally called Dr today. He says it's probably a UTI and called in Cipro.
Question is how long before releaf is on it's way? I'm feeling worse than when I was in the hospital. Just the other day I was thinking how much better I felt than before I had surgery, and now I just want to curl up and disappear.
Any words of encouragement would be appreciated!!!

Hello, I had a uti after surgery. It took two presc. one for 7 days and one for 10 days before it finally cleared up.. drink lots of fluids!!!! I went thru 8 bottles of cranberry juice and got sick of it so then stuck to water. I had a burch sling and my bladder was attached to the uteris. I am ten weeks post and am back on Detrol for frequency. I was out walking and sneezed unexpectantly and no leaking!!!!!! It sure surprized me. I still have the urge to cross legs when coughing or sneezing. I think that will be a habit that is hard to break... I still get a bit achy if i do too much... Hang in there it really does get better....

sounds like you had an easy time of it (if anyone can have an easy time of one of these things). I see this morning the cramping has lessened. Just hope it goes away!!! Nice to know that other people have gone through these things and survived!

It was great hearing from someone who has gotten past the two month mark! How does it feel being way down there!!!!?? Sounds like your UTI was pretty bad, have you had any other post op problems?
I think I'll try the cranberry juice. I might send my son to the store now! Anything besides water, I think that's half the problem. I feel water logged and a few days ago I thought to cut my consumption of water so I could get a decent nights sleep. OUCH!!! Wrong decision!

Hi Chris,
I know the feeling of not wanting to drink so you don't have to pee. But it is not a good idea. I stop drinking and I run into problems!
Other problems. ---- Yes keloids on incision. I hate the scar, it is raised, red and spread out atleast 1/4 in in places and still very sensitive skin... so I am seeing a dermatologist in July. Last night I had severe cramping, I broke out in a sweat, felt nauseous. I think I over did it during they day. I had done some tilling and planting a garden. I used the heating pad, took ibuprofen and a gravol. I had a good bm and that seem to do the trick. Not sure why I was in so much pain. This is the second time it has happened since surgery and it seems to be bowel related. Today I am fine but tired from not getting much sleep.
Feel free to e-mail me. Someone on here has it in their signature "everyday is a pee bit better!! Take care
Love, Pam s
