3 weeks post hysterectomy - strange burning sensation left leg... Pain too, confused

Hey girls,
Today I'm exactly 3 weeks PO from my davinci total hyster with BSO and cervix removal.

The past few days I've had some strange pains and burning sensations on my left leg only. Outer thigh and the area around my knee and inner calf. It's sensitive to touch but no rash. Also felt twitches here and there.

Have any of you experienced this? It's confusing- I'm frustrated bc I felt i was better before this 😿

Re: 3 weeks PO, strange burning sensation left leg... Pain too, confused

At 3 weeks post op I was diagnosed with a deep vein thrombosis. I had called my doctor's office several times because I had pain in my inner thigh on my right leg. I was told it couldn't be a clot because I had none of the other symptoms that usually accompany a blood clot (redness, warmth to touch, swelling). I finally went to the ER where they did an ultrasound of my leg and determined it was indeed a clot.

Please go to the ER. It may not be a clot, but if it is you need immediate attention. Please keep us posted.

Catherine, my nurses are sending me to have a scan done of my left leg for clots. It probably isn't but then again, this is a weird experience. Will keep u posted.

I am glad you are going in. Better safe than sorry when it comes to blood clots.

Mindy, yes it is better to be safe. . What's odd is I've been walking a decent amount so I wouldn't expect to have a clot. I'm def more active than I had been. But I've also started on an estrogen patch shortly after surgery.

Hey Mindy and Catherine, I'm finally back from the radiology office. Good news, no clots!!

But the pain is pretty bad. Plus I have done a bit more walking etc the past few days.... All I can think is its nerve and muscular pain bc I'm having twitches and my left hip spazzed out twice today... Sciatic area. Ugh 😫

That's great news. I'm glad you had it checked out. I worry when I see a member post about leg pain because I know from experience how bad that can be. Take it easy and don't push yourself. You're still early in your recovery.
