Hail,
Japan was fabulous. Was there 2 weeks with DS -- he's 12 and was competing over there as part of the US junior national karate team. Poor kid had to carry my bags though, that was my DR's condition for letting me go at only 6 1/2 weeks. Also I tended to get tired towards the end of each day, and had to watch the stair climbing...but loved those bidet toilets they have over there! Actually got one when I got back home, we liked them so much. I really appreciate it now that I have stitches there again!
Good luck with your surgery... I'm with you, sooner is better than later, why wait if you know what you need to do? Then you can get on with your life again.
s,
- Linda

2 months

I saw my dr. the end of Aug and had ultrasound scheduled for the following week to check the size of the uterus to help determine what type of surgery he could do. I had also put it off and was borderline between vaginal or abdominal surgery and adeno tends to cause the uterus to get larger and makes the uterus soft or boggy on exam. Nomal uterus is hard. The next week I went for ultrasound, got results a couple days later and then made a decision the next day. I was told the uterus was already 9 week size and if it got 10 weeks or bigger I would have to have an abdominal surgery or take Lupron to shrink it down which was offered to me but I refused. I got called the following week to set up the date which was scheduled for six weeks later. The previous month was booked solid and the dr. wanted to do the surgery the first couple weeks of my cycle since recovery was better that way. I had to wait an extra week since period was due on a Tuesday and they only did surgeries on Mondays. I also had to consult a urologist before hand so that took some extra time and if any bladder work (tacking, sling, cystocele, rectocele repair etc.) was needed both dr's would have to be available for the same surgery day. Pre-op involved bloodwork and EKG at the hospital a few days before surgery. Good luck.
