Welcome home. I had a TAH BSO for large fibroid and large cyst, from endometriosis.
Surgery took 1 1/2 hours as planned. I just got home on Sunday, 5/26. Feeling like someone punched me in the stomach; however, I have a high pain tolerance. Had
general anesthetic and spinal with pain med in it. WOW! I was awake in the recovery room and remember speaking to the dr. My dh thought I looked great right after surgery.
Didn't need pain meds (no drip at all) until 24 hours after surgery. Only on 1 percoset every 5 hours.
Welcome home. I'm glad to be home too.
Really tired; but expected. Even doing 1 flight of stairs a day. Hardest part is getting in and out of bed at night.
Take care.

Hi jlo and Laurie

Welcome home ladies.

The first few days are a challenge. Especially getting in and out of bed and up and down from the toilet.

Keeping taking it easy and taking your pain meds as needed. No hero's here please. Just take things one step at a time. Get lot's of and and do a little as you are able.

I always saw a little improvement each day. It was so encouraging and rewarding.

Take good care of yourselves and enjoy the pampering!

Hi Ladies

I've been looking for both of your posts. Glad to see you are home and doing well. I myself got home on Sunday around noon.

As Seeshelley said, don't forget your princess training. And don't overdo it! (A problem I am having. Pain meds make me feel a little TOO good, so I do too much!)

s to both of you,

We made it!

Good to hear from you. When you feel up to it, give us the details. I know about the waiting for the bm. I had my first one this evening and felt like the entire family should cheer for me.

Take it easy and thanks for checking in.

Welcome Home!

WELCOME HOME to all the new princesses! I had my TAH/BSO on 5/8/02 and it went well. I went to the Dr.'s office a week after my surgery and for a short car ride. But please listen to the other ladies when they say not to over do it! Rest often - even though you feel like you could conquer the world -there is a lot of healing going on inside! I am 3 weeks post op- feeling great and I still don't go up and down the stairs a lot! I do take a lot of short walks, but I make sure I get plenty of rest everyday - even if I have to make myself. My Dr. told me this was important if I wanted to heal correctly. She said I would start to feel good and think I could do more that I should, so I am following her orders - besides - I love being a pampered princess! Take care and looking forward to hearing from you when you get better!!
