6 days to go

With only 6 days to go before TAH, I have encountered the period to end all periods, IMHO.

<sigh> I was looking forward to one last romantic evening with the DH before Tuesday.

Hi Jo

I'm sorry Aunt Flo decided to pay you one last visit. The ol' gal went with me to the hospital last Thursday, but she died on the operating table! I had her funeral yesterday when I found my last box (almost full) of tampons, put a big bow on them, and left them on my 20-year-old daughter's bed. Such bliss! I'll never have to entertain that unexpected and unwelcome visitor ever again!!!!

For so many of us, it seems like the ol' gal shows up with a vengence for one last fling. I'm sorry she's interrupted your romantic evening. Just know, that in about seven weeks, you can romance to your heart's content and never have to worry about her showing up and spoiling things again.

Hang in there. I know you've been through so much. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

s,

Lisa

6 days to go

Hi Jo!

I'm having surgery next Tuesday too (TAH/BSO). I got my Aunt Flo last Friday and yesterday I had my pre-op. The Doc wanted to do an exam and I told him I was bleeding really bad and had lots of pain. He examined me anyway and he must have hit something and I went thru the roof! He said my endo was worse and he now thinks I have adenomyosis... great! He's decided not to put me on any hormones afterwards, because it apparently aids in the chance of the endo coming back. I never knew that. But hand in there! Our FINAL periods! I can't wait for this time next month when NOTHING happens!

I am hoping to have a final romantic weekend with DH this weekend... he's hoping too!

Have a great recovery and I will post mine when I'm out of the castle!

Good luck.

Nancy

6 days to go

Hi Jo,
I am also scheduled for a TAH with a possible BSO on tuesday and Aunt Flo made
her last visit this monday and messed up a nice holiday weekend but as my dh
kept telling me it is the last one and in a few days it will all be behind you and the
same goes for you in a few days it will all be behind all of us , no more ruined plans
because of her arrival.
And as for the romantic evening, luckily I will be able to have one with my dh which I
am looking forward to but he keeps telling me he is looking forward to life after surgery
because of the freedom we will have so look at it this way you may not have one last
night before surgery but you will have a lifetime after surgery to make up for it.
Good luck on Tuesday!

Me Too

Oh yes. The last visit. I guess technically there is always a "last" visit. But when it comes just days before surgery, is it good or bad? On the one hand, it reminds me of just WHY I need this surgery. On the other it provides more stress at a time when I could really use a break!

My DH alternates between cursing the pain it always gives me, and feeling sorry for himself. He is convinced that someone up there hates him! I am 6 days pre-op and he had plans for each one of them! LOL

Right now I am in pain. It is hard to sit at my computer. My last period lasted 10 days, and it came 8 days after the one before, so I'm sure I'll still be bleeding when they wheel me into surgery. Right now I can only think how glad I'll be when this is over.

Maybe that's God's gift. I've been obsessing over my surgery, the possible pain, even death. God is reminding me that there is a good reason not to hop off that table and run screaming from the room. Ya think?

6 days to go

Since I just finally got her to leave, with the aid of BC pills, I hate the thought of her coming back, but since I doubled up on pills I'm already to the green ones so I guess Auntie is due here at my house any time now too. Gosh I hope not. I've already had enough problems. See my signature if you don't believe me!

So all of us next Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday girls should be free and home again by the end of next week.

Hey Pat

Having Aunt Flo visit as I went into surgery sure worked to keep me on the table! All I could think of was leaving her in the OR. And I did!!!!!!!!

I won't be alone

Well, it makes me feel better to know that I won't be the only one leaving Flo on the table.

Lynn, I hope you and the DH get some romantic time before! It will be a long wait after. But you know it hurts so bad now and 1/2 the time we stop anyway so maybe waiting would be better.
