Kidney stones

About 12 am yesterday morning I starting thowing up every 15 to 20 min, at first I thought it may have been something I eat earlier because we had a barbque for Memorial Day but no one else in my family got sick.

So about 2hrs later I started having lower back pain on the right side and felt like my bladder was full but would only go a little each time I went to the bathroom. Then I thought maybe I had a UTI some I starting drinking water to get hydrated and still continue to throw-up.

The pain started getting worse so about 4am I woke-up DH and told he to take me to the ER the pain was worst than any pain I felt before. The hospital was about 10min from home, it was the worst 10 min ride I ever had I throw-up in the car on the way the the ER.

When we got their I was seen right away because I think they knew how much pain I was in. The nurse wanted a urine sample but it hurt so bad, I managed to get one.

Then they sent me to get an ultrasound. And they found a kidney stone about 2cm and said it was to small to remove through surgery. They gave me Demoral for pain, and paper strainers to pee in and said that I would pass it a anytime and If I did not in three of four day go see a urinoglist(sp).

I have never had them before in my life and do not wish them on anyone they are very very painful.

Day 2 still waiting to pass the stone.

Take care and God Bless

I am so sorry you are dealing with this- they are VERY painful. I have not had one but my DS had one & they did the same thing with him- gave him a strainer (which i dont think he was using but he did finally pass it).
Take it easy & i will be thinking of you & praying that you pass that bad boy real soon !

I know exactly how you are feeling. I just passed one about 3 weeks ago. The pain is awful. Once it makes it to the bladder and is out of the ureter you will feel better. You will still have an urgency to pee, like your bladder is going to bust, but better. I drank almost 2 gallons (short a pint, I measured it) of water in 5 hours and finally passed it, in the doctors office! Make sure they give you an antibiotic after you pass it. I got a UTI right afterward.I still have another one in my right kidney but it is not moving so it doesn't hurt. I am now waiting on the pathology report to see what it consists of. They said it takes about 48 days. I'm really sorry you are hurting. USE YOUR PAIN MEDS. If you run out, get more. Let me know how you are doing. Karlene

OH, I know that pain! You poor thing! I would rather give birth to ten babies than go through that again!

CALL a urologist now if it has not passed. I know from experience that they can do a lot more than "just let it pass" and 2CM!!!! That is big for a stone!

Please call now if it has not passed, you do not need to suffer.

Let us know!

Kidney Stones

After last year I feel like an expert on kidney stones. I passed ten, may I repeat myself, ten stones last year!:eyes: Boy what misery! Three of them required surgical intervention, but I passed the others. Now my doctor uses me to consel other patients when they come into our clinic with a possible or confirmed stone. Very painful! At present I have two stones in each kidney, hiding and waiting. I KNOW YOUR PAIN! I hope you pass your stone very soon! Good luck! DRINK, DRINK , DRINK your water! Keep everyone informed of your progress.

I would get clarification on the size of that stone because 2 cm sounds way to big to pass. I would call the urologist. There is no point is suffering anymore than you already have.

Hi Jocelin

Wow and I thought I had had a lot of kidney stones, but some of you ladies have had so many. Bless your hearts, I know they are so very painful. And I too would rather have a baby than pass one of those stones. I had one for about a month during Christmas one year. It was awful. I also found that cranberry juice is a great soother. I think I pickled my self that Christmas. It also helps with the UTI afterwards. God Bless you Sweetie. Maybe you will pass it soon.

Jocelyn, I'm so sorry you had to go through this I never passed one myself, but my dad and sister did and both said how much it hurt. My sister said it was worst than childbirth

Please, do call the urologist if you haven't pass the stone: there are lots of things they can do, including disolve it so it will pass.

Sending lots of healing s your way. Please let us know how you're doing.
