Ask your doctor/surgeon/nurse!!

Speaking from experience with abnormal PAPS for years, abnormal menstrual cycles for years, and from reading some of the post op complications, etc. I have this to offer: Ask everything. If you think of 10 more questions later, call back and ask them. I had 4 pages of questions at my final pre-op appointment with my doc. It took us 90 minutes to get through them, and her nurse kept poking her head in to hurry us along after an hour, but I just calmly said I was much more comfortable knowing EVERYTHING. I asked who, if anyone, shaved me, and if I was awake or asleep when that happened. (Nobody shaved my pubic area, they shaved my tummy once I was asleep! Urinary catheter was after I was asleep, too.). I got burned on the abnormal PAPS by not demanding the next step up, and learned my lesson. Now I ask every detail in great detail and keep going back until I'm totally comfortable.
