why wait?

My dr yesterday gave me the option of the hysterectomy. After 2 d&c's in 6 months to stop the bleeding, and finding an endometrial polyp this time, and deciding that my final diagnosis is going to be adenomyosis, and me just being plain tired of going through this mess, I am ready for the surgery. I have met the requirements for the insurance company for them to cover it, and ready to roll. I am currently waiting for the surgical cooridinator to call me back with what days my dr can do the surgery. I know he is in the office a few times a week, and at outpatient surgery one day, and or one day. I am hoping that he can do this on July 1. One reason is because what a way to celebrate Independence day but to come home from the hospital a new woman. Dr said he would be doing a vaginal hysterectomy and leave my ovaries.
He gave me a few options as far as besides hysterectomy, such as the Mirena IUD, nope, nothing doing, don't want a foreign partical in my body. Other option was birth control pills, nope, been there, done that, don't want to do it again.
Just lets get going. Hubby had problems with the idea at first, but after thinking, reading, and sleeping, he is ready for this too.

Why the Wait?

I had to wait a while only because I was going to in a military hospital. They only schedule ob/gyn surgeries on Thursdays. My original surgery was scheduled in March but I got the flu and they couldn't operate. At that time they were scheduling 2 days a week for ob/gyn sugeries. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Then when they rescheduled me they dropped the surgery days for ob/gyn down to 1 day a week. That's how mine was almost a month from the time it was originally scheduled. I had surgery on Thursday 4/18 in the afternoon and was home that Sunday. I hated the wait because I stress over everything. I think everyone can agree with me that the waiting period is the worst. Recovery depends on you. Every person recovers different. Just listen to your body. Tammy
